What does the classification of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties mean?

The authority deals with the professional levels for each specialty, such as: technician, specialist, senior specialist, deputy, senior deputy, and consultant. Job titles such as department head, director, technical supervisor, chief physician, or other similar positions are not within the authority's purview; these titles fall under the jurisdiction of the employing entity.

Professional classification means awarding the appropriate professional grade to a healthcare practitioner based on a sequential procedure that includes reviewing and documenting qualifications and experience, as well as a professional evaluation. This is the first step for a practitioner to apply for professional registration. Applications for this service are also accepted from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
